Menu Action List

The Action List is a list of items that are configurable for each menu item within a Menu Set.

None - no action taken, typically used for sub menu structures
Line Break - inserts line break for readability
About VisualVault - displays about screen with version information
Advanced Search - launches advanced search or a saved search
Company Locations - launches company location administration screen
Custom URL - link to a URL inside or outside of VisualVault
Customers - launches customer location administration screen
Database Connections Admin - launches database connections admin
Document Library - launches document library or a particular folder view
Drop Down List Admin - launches the drop down list admin
Form Data - shows form data list, or a particular dashboard
Form Fill-in - displays a particular form for fill-in
Form Library - displays list of forms where user has rights
Form Templates - displays form template administration
Groups - displays group administration screen
Help - displays help screens
Logout - logs user out of VisualVault
Menu Administration - displays menu administration
Module Administration - displays module administration
My Email Subscriptions -users open forms
My Preferences - displays preferences screen
My Searches - displays users saved searches screen
My Training - displays training for a user
My Vault - displays My Vault portal
New Project - launches to create a new project
Page Administration - displays page administration screen
Page Link - launches a page designed through page administration
Portal Administration - displays portal administration screen
Show Projects - shows list of projects, or a particular project
Suppliers - displays supplier location administration screen
Training Log - shows training log if users have access
Users - shows user administration screen
Workflow - shows workflow report screen

Some items in the above list have special fields to facilitate the configuration of the action. Other items have standard fields that are used on the majority of the Action Items. Refer to the topicDesigning a Menu Set Layout for more information on common fields for each Action item.

Access to each of the above items can be controlled through Menu Security. If Menu Security has been setup so everyone has open access to all menu items, users without administrative permissions will not be allowed to launch administrative screens. When designing a new Menu Set, all menu items added will not have security applied to them. All menu items will be visible to all users. To control what users see in the menu layout, assign groups to the menu item. Once a group is assigned to a menu item, only that group will have visibility to the menu item. Multiple groups can be assigned to view a menu item.
